West Village II

This is the story of a busy tech executive who made a bold decision to move to New York City after spending more than two decades in San Francisco. Having previously worked with Francis Interiors on a gorgeous turn-key-ready rental apartment that was delivered in 30 days, the client hired our studio to reimagine her newly purchased residence in a converted late 19th century printing warehouse, with dramatic brick archways, located at the border of the West Village and Meat Packing district. This 2400 sq. ft. quintessential NYC apartment was completely reimagined while retaining the structural spirit.

Architectural and decorative lighting design, custom millwork and bespoke furnishings and finishes in each corner of the home tell a unique story of the client’s journey from San Francisco to New York through the Francis Interiors lens.

Moments of Inspiration

Bringing in an iconic piece of New York history was very important. And what is more iconic than an authentic reproduction of the Metropolitan Opera chandelier by Lobmyer for above the dining table that was made using a vintage railroad tie siting on a steel base!

The bar was inspired by our clients travels. During the project she asked if we could incorporate a piece of ironwork like the balconies she loved from her vacation in Puerto Rico. After some research, we found this 1920’s iron gate at an antique store. It was the starting point of a custom design that has become a focal point in the home.

Owner's Suite

Whimsical, luxurious, but above all, super comfortable are the finishes in the owner's suite as they soften up the the industrial, old printing house environs while complimenting the vibe at the same time. And, of course, who wouldn't love this walk-in closet that even Carrie Bradshaw would envy?
