Design on a Dime 2017

As one of the most successful rooms of the year, “50 Shades of Grey” was Francis Interiors’ designed showroom for Housing Works’ annual benefit, Design on a Dime. Inspired by his favorite color, Lead Interior Designer Francis Toumbakaris blended a monochromatic color palette with plush, tactile furniture and the erotic photography series, Matthew in a Mask, to create a room that was sumptuous to the senses and alluring to audiences - including the design extension of Elle Magazine, Elle Decor.

Prominently featured in the Facebook Live recording for Elle Decor, “50 Shades of Grey” highlights the comprehensive interior design build solutions that Francis Interiors can bring into the home. From the layered, textured rugs below to the crown molding and custom beam ceiling above, Francis brings everything together to create a room that emanates elevated sophistication and eclectic cohesion.
