Design for Renovation in A Chelsea Split-level Loft
In this split-level Chelsea loft, the task for Francis Interiors was not to embellish the room with sofas, pillows or window treatments but instead to artistically design a space that suited the needs of the client, who sought to increase the real estate value of the property for home renovation.
To maximize space on the first floor, Francis designed an open kitchen with architectural detailed work, allowing movement to flow seamlessly across the home. A double row of cabinets provides well-needed storage, while a combination of cove lighting and overhead lighting ushers in the option of ambience or efficiency.
Respecting the architectural lines of the loft, Francis chose to emphasize the horizontal elements of the space, giving direction to the eye as it dances across the counter continuing without interruption over the fireplace and into the adjacent workspace
After the space was appraised and refinanced by the owner, the return on investment exceeded all expectations with costs weighing no bearing to the new increased price of the interior space.
