Multi-purpose Design for A Residential Building Playroom

Aside from designing kitchens and baths, bedrooms and living rooms, Francis Interiors has also led concept development, interior design and general contracting for multi-purpose rooms and residential building playrooms such as this West 72st Street Playroom.

Tasked to meet the needs of adults and children alike, Francis sought to provoke the imagination using his immediate surroundings as inspiration. With the energy of the city bustling around them, Francis interpreted New York City into the space, keeping flexibility and functionality as the top priorities in this new environment.

Modular and multi-purpose furniture, a ping-pong table, abstract wall decals, a traffic signal, and shelving units, as well as astroturf and a racing stripe for scootering (a feature which incorporated two different tones of wood), brought Francis’ vision to life and created a space where everyone feels they belong.

Today, the building has a common room that everyone is proud of and actually uses. It’s a place where families are happy to host birthday parties, family gatherings, community meetings and other special events. Above all, it’s a place where memories are made.
